Here are some really chic ideas to "Sass-up-your-style" this year. Sometimes you hear people say, "Wow! I love this outfit, but where would I wear it to?" Come on people!! Life is too short to constantly be behind the scenes. What is so wrong about looking good or being "Over dressed"? You are not over dressed- they are under dressed. There is a lot of dumbing down fashion these days. Everyone wants to look like they just rolled out of the gutter, which is fine -for them. But if you stumble on a "Beyond fabulous" outfit while the other slackers are waking up from another messy night, that's not your fault! If they look like crap that is what they are going to attract. And that will never get them to the V.I.P lounge or private parties. Who wouldn't want to invite that really super cool guy and girl with that Chic 50's Hollywood style? Every party needs them. I did like in days before how you were pushed to look good to reap rewards. Chic style isn't a fad,trend, or something the youth do. It is a lifestyle. It's what and who you are. When you look good ,you feel good. And let me tell you- I would much rather take go for drinks at a swanky apartment with someone dashing and later disrobe with them, then get home with an unkept slacker mess that looks and smells like something like a cat wouldn't even lay their excrement in!! OKAY!! Mama did not raise no fool here -honey!

Wow! 2011 is almost gone- and 2012 is just around the bend! That was quick. But what wasn't quick is the recovery of the economy. I know everyone is always complaining about it, but "Hello"- it is what drives our world. People are saying that they can not afford this or that -well that is due to a bad economy. And as long as we are addicted to paying China's exploited labor prices you can kiss your jobs goodbye! Think about it, you may shop at the big ugly chain super stores and shop for a dollar. Without your jobs that dollar is going to be like a million dollars. Without a job how can you pay for food, room, clothing, bills, and even taxes. I have not heard of buying anything without money. So for this holiday season we all should be thinking about shopping in a small cool local store and buying American made products. The Rockabilly, Burlesque, Vintage and other Niche stores are selling products made by local artist and companies. If anything, this is a way to protest and establish a healthy economy by buying local! Helping the small business by buying their goods and using their services, keeps the dollar here at home! Saving jobs and helping them stay in business to create beautiful things that big business can not! We at Tarantula Clothing Love doing the shows and meeting our customers face to face. Even having a dance or drink with them! We are making beautiful clothing because we are in the "Scene", by the "Scene", and for the "Scene". The other night we were at the Cicada club on sunday. Everyone was dressed Vintage or vintage inspired and together they all looked beyond Fabulous!! There is no other look that can compete. The looks were "To die for" and you just wish that you can live in a city where those looks are the norm! Our goal is to make clothes like the costumes in all the American Classic movies. So everyone can look like a Silver Screen Star everyday! So the Next time you are shopping think of us. Think of buying and wearing your Tarantula outfit. Where would the world be without dance!?? It is very natural instinct, like walking, and using the restroom. Up until recently the adults as well as their kids used to dance and party together. So people grew up knowing the older folks dances, as well as bringing their modern styles to the mix. Something happened along the way- and the two groups partied separately, ending a lot of the dance moves of yesterday. You need the good moves from before, the moves you learn along the way, as well as the new moves of today to really get your dance library on the fast track-jack!! So here are some videos to get your feet moving and moves moving to a wild beat. Gone are the days of the cabaret dancers/singers. i guess because there are no more supper clubs-Awwww. Well life goes on and you never know when someone out there decides to open a supper club. Maybe the stars provide the need to open one up first. What possessed the people to meet in garages and alleyways to practice dance moves?? Thats the beauty of dance. It is a kind of art thats is thankless ( other than racking up glamour points!!! ) Yet people find the need to keep it going. So go out-form your dance groups,become that fab dance partner, or that wild Cabaret dancer. The options are endless!!! It don't mean a thing if you aint' got that Swing-Miss Honey!!

OMG!! Its summer!! Time for Babes, Boys, Beaches, Bathing Suits, Beauty, Boobs, and Booze!! Here in Los Angeles we have mountains, rivers, car shows, dances, BBQ, and Beaches. It is dry heat here in L.A. so the summer is bearable, unlike other regions where they have humidity that can really wilt a docile flower!! Marlene is in her Tarantula Tie top bra and High Waisted 40's Trousers (not avaible yet) She accents it with Huge White gardenias!! No more red flowers dolls its all about Big White Gardenias!! And I mean Big! But pin them in, so when you're Jiving or strolling they don't go flying across the room. Only if it lands smack dab in the eye of that evil bitch you always hated-I'm joking of course. You need to be sweet and angelic if you want to be invited to one of the many Luau's coming up. Another accessory is a tiki shack, and tiki fruit punch (From Tiki Ti Bar)!! Mmmm- I smell a Party coming on!! Is anyone going to TIKI OASIS 11 in san Diego?? Do not forget jacuzzi and Swimming pool partys-doen't everyone own one??? I am going to do more beach and swimming this summer, and alot more tiki events? Can anyone say Tiki Central. I guess other than the smog and dirty beaches it is all about tiki and Los Angeles has Plenty of tiki!! Til' the next blog-Aloha!! Cabrones!!

HERE IT IS!! THE TORPEDO!! The Torpedo is a 1947 Lincoln 7" Chop top 2 door sedan. It has a rebuilt 302 Lincoln V8 engine,rebuilt auto trans, and rechomed bumpers and grills! Power-windows, brakes, steering, and looks! New 3" white walls, sexy rear skirts, new Edelbrock carburator, lights, New interior, new paint, and a new attitude. From dumb mechanics who were flakey and didn't know what they were doing, to 9 years and other mechanics who did know what they were doing- a museum quality art piece on wheels was born! Albert put in many mechanical hours in it so he takes it out more than I do -but yes I drive it as well! If you have never made love in an old car then you really haven't lived!! It even takes attention away from souped up rice burners and Ferrari's alike!! And there is a certain Star quality you feel either driving in it or just being a passenger. It isn't like getting into a 2011 anything!! So if you are interested in getting a vintage ride here are some things to consider-do you want it fixed already and jump in it and drive-or do you want to get dirty, have patience fixing it, and wait until it's driveable? The already done option will cost you upfront, but you will instantly enjoy it. The do-it -yourself option will save you around 2-3 thousand, but it will cost, and you better have tons of patience!! We saved the Torpedo from a Barn in Hemet California. It was just a shell, but thousand (and I mean thousands ) of Dollars later "Here it is". A Museum quality art piece on wheels!!

Hello Sexy and Fabulous Tarantula fans!!
Finally a blog with some guts!! Tarantula Clothing was started from one day of partying. As we were on the grass of the Los Angeles Public Library we were gazing at the pages of some space gas formations. All the colors, stars, and swirling gases got us to think"WOW! I wonder what the citizens of those planets are wearing??" It started on a Wild Fashion interpretation of what Amazing looks they were giving as clothes. The ideas were coming fast and furious! I swore one day I was going to make those crazy drawings come true and sell them to the Insane members on Earth. it was going to be called Tarantula Nebula but the scientist had the name copyrighted and so I had to change it somewhat. Tarantula Clothing Company was born because it had Tarantula-which sounds Scary, Chic, Sinister, Black, Furry and Sexy. Clothing Company sounded like Acme clothing company or something Vinatge like that!! So put the two together and TARANTULA CLOTHING COMPANY was born. Here we are 6 years later keeping the small mom and pop boutiques supplied all around the WORLD!! Places like Australia, England, France, Germany, Sweden, The Netherlands, Aruba, Canada, New Zealand, Italy, and the US of A!! Since the low supply of vintage clothing (especially for larger sizes) Tarantula became a necessity! We love the clothes, make-up, hairstyles, architecture, art, movies, dances, music, shoes, furniture and cars of the 1900's, 1920's, 1930's, 1940's, 1950's and 1960's! All are Fabulous! We love to appreciate and preserve the styles of yesterday, and bring them as classics to the new century. I love when people say," WOW!!~ Where are you going all dressed up??" And I respond"Oh- in this old look??" Face it in a room of shaggy dirty hair,non made-up faces, and dirty looking low rise jeans I feel like I need to take a bath. You better be real gorgeous to pull off those looks, and real young!! Glamourous American classic Clothes are always a crowd pleaser. If you do not believe me , take the glamour test for yourself. And Remember-There is never such a thing as "Too Dressed Up!" So kick it up and notch honey! Buy your new Tarantula outfit and be a Crowd pleaser. After all, it's for a good cause---your glamour points!! And don't think there's not glamour Bitches taking score!!
